New Appointment at Caffyn’s

We are delighted to announce our recent appointment as Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Coordinator to the Caffyns Group.

Established in Eastbourne in 1865 as Engineers, Caffyns seized the opportunity in 1903 to embrace the motor car industry, and in 1904 “Caffyn’s Garage” was launched following enlargement of their original business premises to accommodate 16 cars.
 
Caffyns, a company quoted on the London Stock Exchange, now has 27 car dealerships in Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire, of which 24 are on freehold sites owned by the company.  The group has franchises for twelve manufacturers including Audi, Volkswagen, Vauxhall and Land Rover, and group stock of more than 1,000 used cars.
 
Caffyns has evolved alongside the motor industry responding to changes in legislation, economic climate, lifestyle and attitudes. The aim of Caffyns as a franchisee of the various car manufacturers is to maximise the sale of new cars.  However, the manufacturers exert significant pressure to ensure their corporate branding policy and standards are fully integrated into the Caffyns’ showrooms.  Accordingly, in refurbishing or building new dealership facilities, Caffyns must meet the requirements of the manufacturers whilst developing functional and cost effective premises.
 
In order to remain competitive and retain their franchise agreements, Caffyns intends to execute a rolling programme of car showroom refurbishments and new-build and has appointed Synergy as Project managers for this implementation.  The first project to be appraised is Caffyns Land Rover in Lewes.
