Stunning new facilities completed at Sandwell Academy

Summer 2012 saw the completion of a new Fitness Suite, Nursery and Grounds Maintenance Building for

Sandwell Academy, a 1200 pupil Academy in West Bromwich which specialises in Sport and Business Enterprise.

The building designed by BHM Architects, London, incorporates a fully featured fitness and physio suite at 1st floor level, with changing facilities at ground floor and a nursery, with extensive play space externally and a large double classroom at first floor.

The building was constructed using a polished facing block to match the existing academy building, with a wrap around curtain walling providing a key visual feature to the fitness suite, allowing large amounts of natural light.

Works commenced in August 2010 and completed on budget in August 2011, enabling the Academy time to fit out the fitness suite with state of the art equipment, prior to the start of the new term.
